"Our traditional place to stay"
This year we have been at Vila Teresinha for the sixth time. We really like the informal atmosphere, the rooms, and the breakfast served by Senhora Catarina. We always feel like staying at good friends. I have some mobility problems, but Senhor Agostinho helps us with carrying our bags up- and later downstairs (the guest rooms are on the third and fourth floors, and there is no elevator). My wife and I look forward to stay at Vila Teresinha next year again

Great View
A peaceful place in Funchal, with great terrace to get som sun or enjoy the view of Funchal with a glass of Madeira in the evening with all the lights , The breakfast was good (excellent eggs) , the WiFi good in all areas, the place was very clean and tidy.
they also provide with a fridge and a microwave

The couple were so friendly. We arrived a visitor and left as a friend. Felt like we were visiting family. Even had a drink in the local pub with the owner. Fantastic! Glad we find not Ho for one of the bigger establishments. Would not hesitate to go there again. Great personal touch. Thanks to you both

“Highly recommended Residencial in the centre of Funchal”
5 of 5 starsReviewed 1 week ago
I must confess we only booked this because the place we stayed last year was full, but what an excellent choice it was. It's everything you could want of this type of accommodation - clean, airy, light, 7-8 mins walk from the sea front, and just astonishingly good value. The owner speaks excellent English and is only to pleased to help with all sorts of questions and advice. Outstanding breakfast in the south facing breakfast room, and there is a lovely communal balcony as well, although as we were out every day we did not make as much use of this as we could have done. Residencials are clearly not 5 star hotels, so if you're looking for (or expecting..) something like a Hilton then this is not the place for you. There are no dinner or bar options, but you can eat out easily and cheaply at one of the myriad local restaurants. Unusually, there is a fridge on the landing and each room has a basket in it, so you can bring milk, fruit, beer or whatever and keep it in there. That's a really nice touch. And there are kettles in the rooms as well. All in all, highly recommended, and will stay there again.

Memories
We so enjoyed staying with you once again. You both are such caring hosts! Thank you for your efforts -- impecable rooms, informative chats, and a friendly atmosphere -- which made our stay a true pleasure. Breakfast was a daily special treat and, of course, that wide view of the sea from the balcony is magical.
Until we return next autumn you both, the Vila Teresinha and Funchal shall often be in our thoughts. Thanks for those happy memories!

“I am somebody who enjoys small family run pensions or guesthouses and this one checked all my boxes: Nice room with clean modern bathroom, view over the city and bay, close to town but in a quiet enclave, close to a good grocery store, fridge and microwave, helpful owners, good breakfast, interesting guests.”
